Cisco IP SoftPhone version 1.3 and Call Manager 5.1 1

Is it possible to use the Cisco IP SoftPhone version 1.3 with Call Manager 5.1? I have tried to get it going and run into difficulty when trying to find lines. I have followed the setup instructions.
I found some information which says that they may not be compatable, if not what version softphone would I need?

the softphone was discontinued years ago and it's not compatible with cucm 5.X which is also end of life.
It has been replaced by the ip communicator and you can download that from cco.
