Cisco IP phone as a SIP device

Anyone done this on a Shoretel system? I have seen other manufacturers convert the Cisco phones to SIP and use them. Unsupported solution, I know, but it;s being asked about.

FOund out that Shoretel has a white paper on how to do this.
