I have 4 7921 VoIP phones that will not give an audible ring regardless of the Sound Settings on these phones.

I have changed ring tones, volume settings for everything, made sure that they aren't set to headset mode, made sure they weren't on mute, etc... Just no matter what I do with these phones they will only display that a call is being received, but no audible ring.

Strangely enough, when I play different ring tones in the sound settings, they play properly over the speaker.

Any ideas where a setting might be off? You would think that if there was a problem with the speakers that they wouldn't play properly when you change and play the various ring tones.

I'm at a loss here.

Have you check the DND settings?
Also may want to check the "Disable Ring on this Line"
I do not know if the above are even applicable to the wireless phones.

jeter, i did NOT have the administrative guide, so that is a big plus. Thank you for the link.

bigchiefdan, where do you check the DND (do not disturb?) settings? I'm not finding any DND settings in the phone itself. And "Disable Ring on this Line", where is that located?

Sorry for the noob questions, but that's exactly what I am.

Thanks again for the information, very much appreciated.

I have two call managers, a 3.2 that I inherited and a 6.0 that I purchased.
On the 3.2 its located at the Directory Number configuration level/page at the ver bottom.

On 6.0 its on the device configuration page about 3/4 the way down. There is a small section. If somone put their phone on DND, there would be a check mark there. So you can control it also as an admin. there are options on each as to how the phone would act when its enabled.

I may be off base but its a shot.
