I have this IOS in my 2801 and I would like to know if this IOS can support Voice I.E. we will add FXS, FXO boards and POE switch for IP phone etc.

Communications Manager Express / Cisco Unity Express

c2801-entservices-mz.124-10.bin
Cisco IOS Software, 2801 Software (C2801-ENTSERVICES-M), Version 12.4(10), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

If not, then can you suggest another router to start building this solution?

Small office less then 16 IP phones needed.

Thanks for your help

Yes it will.

Based on the router & ios I'd guess it's running cme 4 so will only support a max of 24 phones.

Check the cisco website for the spec as the number of phones is based on the amount of memory etc in the router.

When I was born I was so suprised I didn't talk for 18 months

Do a 'show version' and see if you have any DSP's to support the FXO's.

The router is currently running our major route for us as well as BGP we are not using cme as of yet.

The question was whether we could build an IP phone solution wiht the exisint router and IOS but purchasing additona boards (analog to start, PRI when eventually)

Thanks for your help

purchase another router, you will not want to have that one router doing all of your network/voice processing and traffic pushing on one machine.
