Would someone give me some good advise as to what equipment (routers, switches, hubs) they would purchase if they were going to build a fairly good CISCO Lab at home. I am studying for my CCNP but ultimately will also work towards my CCIE. A while ago I found a website that someone was maintaining that did an excellent job of giving up to date advise to those of us who were interested in Cisco certifications and the individual really had a lot of good information about building and maintaining a Cisco lab but can not seem to locate their address. Does anyone have any good recommendations as to such a so called expert? Please also reply to me directly so that I will get the information quicker. Thanks for all of your help in advance.

DONNY HINES

I have a few routers for a test lab 776 isdn , 800 series isdn, 1600 t1 csu/dsu , a catalyst 1900 and a MC3800 . This gives me a good base for studying and testing . Good luck with your CCNP exam ....

I have a 2514 for NATing my DSL line to my home office network. With that I have a 2503 acting as a frame switch with a 1601 hanging off the *frame ciruit*. I also have a 1900 switch with 3 VLANs, a sparc 10, 3 NT servers and a bunch of other "stuff" on the wire. All this is mounted in a wire "rack" and dressed neatly. And yes, i have most of it sitting on a UPS. I use Rose switch to tie all PCs to s single monitor/keyboard/mouse. the only thing I have not yet figured out is how to do a back to back ISDN link. I did find a couple of ISDN emulators that would work but they are very pricy for a home lab.

Mike
