Dear All,

Scenario:

Siemens PBX -----wall jack (with 2056 extension)---- Cisco 2821 with VIC2-2FXO-------voip-----voip phone (extension 1001)

voice-port 0/0/0
connection plar 1001
signal groundstart

dial-peer voice 10 pots
destination-pattern 7816
port 0/0/0
forward-digits all

-from the VoIP with extension 1001 I keep getting busy signal when dialing 7816 (a phone attached to the pbx system)
-from a phone attached to the pbx system calling the 2056 extension where the Cisco 2821 is connected i get busy signal.
-when I disconnect the RJ21 cable from the VIC card or shutdown and no shut the port the voip starts ringing and I head static and a constant beep.

I have tried many configuration options but can't figure this one out and would apreciate any help.

Many thanks,
Alex

change the signal to loopstart for starters. i can't imagine its ground start coming out of the siemens.
What does show voice port status show while you are calling 1001?
Where is the voip phone connected to? How? is it cisco?

I tried with loopstart as well. The interface show on-hook and as soon as the connection is made it shows off-hook. It looks like there is a signaling, frequency issue ?

The voip is a 7975G connected to a PoE switch that is connected to the cisco 2821, there are other cisco voip phones on the network and the internal CME works without issues. The issue with the FXO getting out or in from the PBX is the same with other internal VoIP phones on the network with different DN's.

Please let me know if you need any debug info.

Thank you!

YOu definately need to be set to loopstart.
Do you get dialtone out of the PBX port if you plug in an analog phone directly into it? Cab you make and receive calls with the analog phone?
Have you tried reversing the tip/ring on the RJ11 to eliminate polarity issues?

The analog phone works well in the wall jack to place and receive calls. I have tried and reversed the tip/ring as the polarity was a first issue while troubleshooting this.

I have put back the signaling to loopstart however I still cannot receive calls and the PBX’s voicemail will kick in after 6 rings, the LED light on the card does not even lid up.

Calling our it seems to go thru but it’s only static noise, no dial tone or connection to the phone number assigned to the dial-peer. I have tried several cptone option but it’s the same issue.

Any ideas ?

Do you have any DSP's in the router and if so do you have enough?
Can you post the whole config as well as a show diag output?
