Hey all,

Having a quick question regarding an AA setup on a Cisco Unity Connection system.

Right now I have the call handler setup, external calls are coming in and hearing the greeting. When the caller types in an extension number (which is in the list of subscribers in CUC), there is a long pause and then the call hangs up.

When I look at the reporting it shows that the call is being handed off to CUCM.

Now, if I call the AA extension from a phone registered in the CUCM and follow the same procedure, the call transfers fine.

I have also tried external calling setting up the gateway DID to the phone and it works fine, so I can verify external calls are working in CUCM.

Any ideas?

there should be no difference between internal and external calls since they follow the same route to unity connection which is the call manager. The call handler you have set up must be configured wrong is all I can think.

I have re-created the call handler twice - the handler is able to route internal calls to extensions - where else should I be looking? The reports are showing me that the calls are being handed off to the CUCM.

so its just external calls that dont get routed but internal do? Using the same call handler?

Yup - internal calls route fine right the extension - any external calls will hit the AA, dial the extension and then you hear dead air - then the call hangs up.

Just found out today that its not the CUC, if we call in with an external number and try to put it on hold or transfer it, it wont work. But if we call an extension to extension, they work.

I had "Media Termination Point Required" checked - I unchecked it and now external calls are able to transfer, hold and route from the CUC.

Well,

This seems to be a problem now considering MOH does not work because I disabled the MTP required. For MTP, do I need to have a config statement on the gateway router for it to work correctly?

Thanks
