I have a new Intel D925XECV2 system that is loaded with Windows XP SP2. Cisco client 3.5 is loaded. Whenever I start the Cisco client and choose to connect to remote site the system reboots. Was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this. Right now I am leaning toward a bad memory stick in the machine, but havent had time to really work with it. Any other ideas appreciated.

Do you have any other VPN Clients running on the machine? Earlier Cisco clients, such as 3.5, had problems coinciding with Nortel clients.

Try uninstalling 3.5 and reloading with the newest VPN client software.

That's not always a good thing to do JOAMON, as certain PIX setups will work with legacy cisco clients, but not newer versions.

I have personally seen this in the healthcare industry, because most larger companies and hospitals do not like changing what is working.

What about trying un-install and re-install of current version. Sounds like something wrong with program or maybe machine not setup with local admin priv.

I would agree, that uninstall and reinstall would be a logical step to try.. of course, if you are running this version 3.5 with Nortel VPN Client also installed, it wouldn't fix it.

I did the install reinstall, didnt work. I did manage to findout that windows xp service pack 2 borrows a .sys file from zonealarm and the sys file was what was triggering the reboot. I renamed the .sys file and can use the client, but havent had a chance yet to see what impact renaming the file has on the sp2 firewall. Thanks all for the comments..
