I have an issue that involves 2 thin clients, a cisco 1600 series router, and a SONET network. Here's the scenario..
I have several offices around the state that are connected to a HIGH Speed SONET network. This network carries voice and data at 2 different wavelengths.
How things are connected: Remote site has 2 thin client PC's that connect to a 10baseT Hub, the hub connects to a port on a 1650 Router. The router connects to a DUMB 10Baset port on the Sonet Box etc.. At the server side we have the exact opposite, we have a 10BaseT Hub that connects 2 SONET rings. That hub has a connection into a cisco 4500 Router, this router also is home to several Frame Relay circuits. The Router has a connection into a cisco 1900 Switch, which connects to a 10BaseT Hub which then connects to a Microsoft NT Citrix Server.
Issue:
Up until two weeks ago, users that connect via the SONET ring were able to connect with no problem. The issues that occurs now is when the first thin client logs in, everything is fine, when the second client logs in, the connection to teh second client fails and the connection to the first client is lost.
Admin has also seen this additional item: When first client logs in, everything is fine, admin telnets into router while connection is active, everything is still fine. Second thin client comes up, and both the telnet session and the first client are disconnected.
All routes are statically set and a simple configuration is used. The 4500 has ACL lists specified for accedd to the citrix server. All users who connect via frame relay work fine. Like I said before, this remote site was working properly up until 2 weeks ago.
I have checked out the citrix forum online and have found information on a registry change on the nt server, but that would only address the issue of users not being able to login who were able to once before. It does not explain the telnet session terminating.
The only other change is that an updated voice FX0 card was replaced. Keep in mind that on this sonet network, Voice and DATA do NOT see each other.
I have the same symptoms occuring at another site.
Any help..
I have had a couple of Cisco engineers look at the configuration of the router and everything seems ok, just curious if any of you have experince with router configurations and citrix client/server and the above related problem?
Thanks in advance..
