Hi, I wonder if anyone has problems running the Cisco documentation CD on IE5. I have tried a few time following the prompts but it never works. I have also tried installing it with Netscape but it still doesn't work.
I am running windows ME and the doc CD is marked DEC 2000.

thanks Bob

I can't get it to work on a 2000pro machine. I gave up assuming it was another of those "not yet supported scenarios" and stuck it on a Win95 machine. If anyone has a solution would be interested to know as I checked the website and couldn't find an updated version.

There are several ways about this, try them one by one and see which works for you. Be aware that the first issue to support 2000/ME was AUG2000 (Maybe July) , anything earlier will not work on these OS's.

Also, if you have any early version of the Doc CD installed(pre-Aug2000), you must uninstall it (and delete the data directory) before installing the new issue.

Method #1
Install the CD as you would normally do. Then copy the documentation CD to
your hard disk. Edit the search.ini file and change the following two lines
to point to wherever you copied the documentation CD.

Example:

InitialURL=/c:/program files/cisco/cd_data/home/home.htm

SourceDrive=c:/program files/cisco/cd_data/

Method#2
To get the Cisco documentation to work under Windows 2000: Run regedit

Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/IE4/Setup/Path

Change the value from "%programfiles%\Internet Explorer" to the location
where IE is installed on your system, for example "C:\Program
Files\Internet
Explorer".

A third method straight from the horses mouth.

Hope this helps.
