Hello!

Is Cisco Call Manager maintenance service as expansive as Avaya Service Agreement? Does any one know? I have enough of Avaya. Any tip - source where I could compare expanses on both systems will be greatly appreciated.
I use 10 Avaya PBXs and I have Service Agreement with Avaya. I have to pay them tremendous amount of money for doing nothing. Avaya is charging for every port, every circuit board. When I tried not to use Avaya they saying that “if I don’t sign Service Agreement with them and go with someone else I have to purchase licenses for MSPs (maintenance services – adds, changes, moves, testing)”. So the conclusion is even after I paid $80,000.00 for new phone switch the phone switch is not main, I can’t do anything with it unless I pay even more. Thx

If you go off maintenance, you can still add, change and remove stations. It's the service commands that you loose such as busy and test. I run several small Prologix systems like this.

Something to consider, I noticed you said that you never use Avaya support. That says something about the product. I too have probably called Avaya for support about 3 times in the last 5 years. See what they have to offer that lets you keep the service commands only so you can keep it working on your own.

As for Cisco, their support is great. Unfortunately, I contact them about once every other week. Lots of bugs and issues with their CallManager product. Make sure you have some sort of service that allows for the latest software versions. You will be installing software patches several times a year.

I hope that helps. I can't give much feedback on the pricing since I don't deal with that part. I'm just a tech that's only worried about keeping my systems up with minimal downtime.
