Cisco CM 7.1.2.xx, 7906 and 7940 series phones

Layout:
15 - 7906 phones, each with a separate 4-digit DN, DN is masked/tied to local 911 facility - 911 center will receive masked number with specific details identifying individual phone locations (need to keep individual DN per phone for 911 reasons)

Prior to IP phones in this area, there was 15 analog phones that shared a single extension. The complaint is that now personnel need to know 15 numbers vs. a single extension.

Is it possible to set up a single (phantom) phone/DN that can automatically be forward to all 15 phones? Ideal setup would be non-intrusive on the 15 phone (ie no changes needed to the 15 phones)

Basically would like to have a "dummy" number that does not reside anywhere, that when called will ring all 15 phones (broadcast) - allowing a single DN to be called for these phones, but each phone maintaining its individual DN/identity.

Thank you

I trust you're aware that you can "Clone" a single phone number across multiple IP phones??

To me that would seem to yield the same functionality as you had before, even better, as while the incoming number would be identical for all 15 phones, any one of them in use would not tie up the line preventing addt'l calls from being rec'd.

Originally there were 15 analog phones on the same line - all ring when the number was called and the first to pick up got the call.

Adding the 7906 single line phones to replace the analog phones and to add an additional feature of 911 identification for each phone: each phone currently has its own DN masked for 911 location information. An outside company translates our DN mask and addes location information for 911. The way this was originally set up was (thought process) was that each phone would need a separate DN in order for proper 911 identification.

As mentioned, now other internal parties who were used to calling a single line to ring all phones now need 'remember' 15 DN.

Speaking of cloning - if a single DN was used for all phones, could each phone have a separate external masking that this outside company can use for 911 location information? I can see that we did not need the 911 ident, this would work perfect for us.

Wasnt really looking to reformating our DN structure with this external company, so that is where a single line being forwarded to multiple (in this case 15) DN's seemed like a simple(er) solution.

Thank you again

Set up a broadcast hunt group with a pilot number of the number you want users to dial and add all the 7906 as members.

Worked like a champ - Thank you for your assistance!
