Cisco ATA problem

We have several ATA's in the field but at one site we have an issue.

When i ping the ATA it is available/not available etc. etc.

We changed the ATA, we changed the switch and the connection tfrom that switch o the call manager stays up.

We changed the power source and we changed the cable.

We compared settings with other ATA's but nothing helped.

Any ideas?

As soon as we pick the phone (behind the ATA) we can ping and it works fine but when it falls asleep, we cannot reach the phones behind the ATA anymore.

Port security on the switchport? I have seen some issues with port security recently with devices not transmitting any packets and the port security timer expiring then the device in unreachable until it transmits another packet that then re-populates the port security MAC table for the port.
I thought SCCP was more chatty though and the keepalives between the ATA and CCM would be frequent enough to stop the port security timer expiring. Worth a look though?

I will take a look. What we did now is put the ATA directly behind the router (cisco 837) as we did with other customers.

The 837 is kind a "old" so we can change that to. Also we use MGCP because our softswitch talks only MGCP to ATA's

I'll let you know.
