Hello all...I ordered a Cisco Aironet 1231 802.11g WAP and have received it. However when reading about it online I see that since it's 802.11g it's supposed to be backwards compatible with 802.11b because they're both in the 2.4Ghz range. Can I use 802.11b NIC's to access the WAP? I havent had much luck with setting this up. Has anyone worked with this before? Any and all information would be helpfull. Thanks!!!

We currently have 10 "G" and 3 "B" AP's deployed. With that we have a mixed number (over 125)of both G and B card working side and side. Laptop user will even roam from G AP to B AP and the connection will pick right up. As to the AP's configs nothing too fancy. Security is 128 bit key and MAC authen.

Thanks for the info...sounds like mine should work with B then...that's a relief! Thanks again!
