Cisco 871

After i program the 871. when it loses power it defaults, so i have to go back in through CLI and reprogram everything. Is there a step im missing to save it to the flash?

FYI. Before this issue I upgraded the Flash to 16Meg. then installed a new IOS.

i did that and now it is asking me for a password before I can get into the terminal programming. I tried the password i used before it reset and cisco and either one are working. Do you know what password they are looking for?

It's asking for the password of the old conf,make share you typing it correctly.If you can get in,try :

router(config)#config-reg 0x2145
router(config)#end
router#wr

Then reload the router,go into privilege mode and then issue the command:
router#copy start run

Change the password then go back to the default boot mode.

router(config)#config-reg 0x2102
router(config)#end
router#wr
