I use the program Utorrent which I am sure u have heard of. It asks for port 16412 to be open TCP and UTP. I shut down the firewall in windows xp and also tried this on Win7.

Reset the router to defaults and still cant get this port to be open. I use to have a Linksys router and it would work just fine. Do I have to Specifically tell the router to open this port for 192.168.1.5? If so what would be the command? I checked the port using PFportchecker from portforward.com and the Utorrent checker as well they say the port is closed.

Thanks

Check internally with a port scanner, like NMap (free). Also, please post a sh run.

There is nothing you should have to do, unless an acl is in place right now. Everything is allowed until an acl is created---once one is created, everything is THEN blocked unless specifically allowed. Usually, for filtering unwanted traffic, an admin would deny what they want and at the end, do

permit ip any any

OR

an admin may allow a bunch of ports and that's it---after all is alloweed that they want, the acl ends---there is an implicit deny at the end of every acl that filters traffic.
