I have question regards to Cisco 802.1Q trunk over WiFi. Current I have 2 D-Link DWL-2100AP running as Point-to-Point bridge that is interconnect between two Cisco Catalyst switch. I setup the both ports to be trunk port with IEEE802.1Q trunk. However, when I ran show spantree port# in root switches it shows forwarding all the vlan. However, when I ran show spantree port# in other end of WiFi it only shows is forwarding default VLAN 1. I think this is because the D-Link does not pass trunk information over the WiFi. I wondering does anyone able to setup the trunk between WiFi and what type of equipments.

Thanks,

SL

It used to be quite common for 802.1Q unaware switches to strip 802.1q tags off frames as they passed through them. It is conceivable that your Dlink bridges are doing the same. put an analyser on the far end and sniff the packets then look at the tag portions to see what what is happening.
