Question? I have a user who currently has a 7940 and is getting a 7960. The user is requesting to have his 5 employee extensions on the phone. How do I add these call appearances on the 7960? I did not see anything in the documentation.

do they wish to pick up the phone lines or have them set up as speed dials;

Depending on yoru version of your CUCM you can do a speed dial or a Busy Lamp Speed dial (sets up a speed dial plus see when the user is on the phone).

If you want to be able to have the line ring on the phone and then pick them up (like an admin would do) you would share the line (put the same ext and PT on the admins phone)

The user would like the extension to appear on the phone as a line appearance. When I look at the phone in CM I only see two line appearances?
 
I figured it out. It helps to use the right button template.
