I was wondering if I can use a Cisco 7940G or 7900 series phone with Vonage?

No you cannot. Although they do use Cisco Callmanager, they will not setup a 7900 series phone. Only an ATA 180 series.

Not a vonage customer..but I thought they were a sip service. I can dial a vonage client from pulver. i am just guessing but if they are SIP and you Get the SIP image for your 7960/40 it probably will work. I doubt they will support you but as long as credentials match I don't think they will know.
