Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to configure the 7937 conference phone so that the screen turns off after a set period of inactivity?

I know it can be done on 7940/60 etc under the power save plus features within product specific configuration, but I cannot find an option for the 7937.

Using call manager 9.1.1.20000.

Kind regards

Not via the call manager. As least not that I'm aware of.

However, you may be able to research and write some custom XHTML code to do it. Check the manufacturer (Polycom) web site. Seems I recall seeing some examples of xhtml code for the microbrowser in the IP-7000 model (same base code as the Cisco 7937). I think they may also have a developer's guide that will get you started & numerous code examples.

The 7937's are sufficiently expensive phones that we put all of ours on Smartnet. Then if one dies it's on Cisco to replace it. I have approx. 12 of them in service presently and in 3½ years time we've had only one fail & so far none of the displays show any signs of dimming or burning-in. Only time will tell if SM was a wise decision.

As an aside, I also have about the same number of 7975's in heavy 24/7 service in a control room with zero failures or display issues over the same amount of time, and these are not on SM.
