I had been advised that it is possible to use third party access points (non Cisco) no get the 7921 IP phones registering to the Communications Manager Express. Can somebody give some tips to test this functionality?
I had tried with a Linksys WRV200 (actually a router) and a 3Com AP (sorry, I don't have the model at this moment) but it appears the phone is not able even to get an IP address.

thanks in advance

We have installed 7921 on several vendor AP's. All you need to do is create a vlan for voice and data and connect it back to a trunk port on the switch.....

I had set a SSID in the 7921 which I known is a valid network, but the Survey option in the phone never appears to detect the network. I know the Wireless network doesn't have any security applied.
