What are the stetps taken for a wireless phone to register with CUCM 8.x. Also, if the battery is removed from the phone will the wireless phone lose it's register

Assuming the programming is set up in CM already, including the MAC
There are many variations you can enter, depending on how your wireless network is set up.
Some basic steps are to enter Network Configuration and make sure your DHCP is set to yes (assuming your network allows this, if not, you will need to manually configure your IP addresses etc.) also check to see if your TFTP Server 1 is set with the correct IP (you will need to temporarily be in DHCP NO if you have to change this) Once this is set, back out and go in to WLAN configuration and enter your wireless SSID name and if needed, your user name and password. ( this is often the same as your PC login and password, but again depends on how your network/security is set up.) Once entered, back out to the main screen and hopefully your phone is searching for the network, downloading what it needs and eventually coming up with the name and number.
Hope this gets you to the right place ......

P.S. Removing the battery does not wipe the device config.
