I've just heard that 7920 can be used on any wireless network AP's - does anyone know if is this true?
We have a Cisco core and all our AP's are 3com - legacy from a 3com network.
I thought that Cisco AP's were needed as part of the whole Avvid convergence.

Not sure what the 3com AP capabilities are but this is from CISCO's website:

Supported Access Points
The Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920 supports Cisco Aironet Access Points (APs) that can run Cisco IOS and include the following models: 350, 1100, 1130, 1200, 1300.

Wi-Fi compliant Access Points that are manufactured by third-party vendors can function with the Cisco Wireless IP Phone 7920, but might not support features such as DTPC, ARP-caching, LEAP, or QBSS.

So give it a shot and let us know. Unfortunately I have not tried to get them working with non-cisco ap's so can't help you there.

good luck

That's good info thanks!
I'll post something if I ever get it working.
