What do you guys think? I found one of these with 5 modules and a pair of power supplies in good working order for $500? Requires a 7 hour drive round trip but I am considering? It will; however, take up half of my rack space? Worth the investment? Or better to put the money into something else?

Holy crap! I would say worth it, but what SUPs are in it? Got a link? And what modules? Hell---Google the power supplies alone---for the 6000W PSU's, they're thousands!
Lemme put it to you this way...for my company to spare a 6509 fully loaded, with dual SUP720B supervisory engines, GB fiber blades, dual FW modules, it would cost $160,000 to spare.

No kidding...I'm interested in the specs on it too. Even if it has sup2's in it, would still be a pretty kick butt device to have.

It's gonna be loud though.

Yeah, but sup2's would be useless for CCNA/NP anymore. Wait...can you put hybridOS on those, or is it all just CAT?

Burt

sup2's will run native. Just have to convert them. There is a boot loader that goes on part of it, that then loads up the ios. Been awhile since I've had to convert one over now.

probably not a bad deal for the chassis and line cards. Would want to know if it's the high speed fan tray though. The sup's would make me stay away from it.

Thanks guys! I decided to stay away anyway! If I spend $500 on anything it will not be running CatOS.. LoL Besides, I need 3560's and an ASA!
