I created a new vlan on my 3750, I assigned it an ip address, subnet and a port. I can ping the new vlan, via IP from my main network, but when I give a pc a static and connect to the configured port, I am unable to ping the vlans IP address. I made sure the port isn't shutdown.

My goal is to provide a new DHCP scope, just to this vlan. I think since I can't even ping it from the port, something else is wrong.

Forgot this

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/5
description image
switchport access vlan 88
switchport mode access
switchport port-security aging time 2
switchport port-security violation restrict
switchport port-security aging type inactivity
macro description cisco-desktop
spanning-tree portfast
spanning-tree bpduguard enable

C 10.10.88.0/24 is directly connected, Vlan88

88 IMAGE active Gi1/0/5

Just to be clear - the default gateway for the new subnet (VLAN) is going to be where?

It sounds like you've created a VLAN interface on this edge switch and given it an IP address? Does that mean you mean for this edge switch to do the routing for this new subnet (VLAN)?

Anyway, the basics: if you have a VLAN interface with a 10.10.88.0/24 IP address on it, a switchport configured as Access in VLAN88, and a PC with a 10.10.88.0./24 address on it patched to this switchport, then you have done what is required to ensure connectivity.

If you're having trouble, the first thing to do is clear all the security gunk off your interface configs as well as that "macro" whatever it does.

Show us your VLAN interface config.
