Cisco 3725 access list question

Hello

Our company uses a Cisco 3725 router. The router has 6 serial interfaces and 2 ethernet interfaces. We have 6 T-1 lines, attached to the six serial interfaces on the public side of the router. The routers configuration load balances packets across all 6 T-1 lines. On the private side a cable runs from an ethernet interface to our firewall. I have been considering setting up an access-list, to provide extra security. But I have read that you can't or shouldn't use access-lists when using special router configuration such as this. Is this true?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

:)

There is nothing really uncommon about your current router configuration, but since all traffic needs to pass thru the Firewall I don't see the point of wasting Router cycles by adding an ACL when you can do this on the FW. What is your reasoning for adding the ACL on the Router - what are you trying to deny/permit ?

Good Luck.
