Cisco 3620 questions

I have a couple of questions see if anybody can help me. Why does my router reload sometimes it goes into setup configuration? I recently install a WIC-2T but it's not showing up. Also currently my ios supports ip,ipx,dec,appletalk if i upgrade will i lose those features? Here is my config, thanks who help.

Look at the Hardware Specifications.

The WIC-2T and WIC-A/S are supported on the Cisco 3600 (on the NM-1FE2W, NM-2FE-2W, NM-2W, and the NM-1FE1R2W network modules), 2600 and 1720 series.

Do you have one of the Network modules listed above ?.

I believe that you should get an IOS version that ends with "T" (ie 12.1(3a)T1. The "T" versions support all serial interfaces & fastethernet interfaces too. If you have a CCO login, then check out the IOS software info at

hello cbum thanks for the info. The module that my router does have is NM-1E-2W i guess it won't work, but i also have a 2621 router will the wic-2T work if i use one of the wic slots? I still don't want to upgrade my IOS if i lose my ip,ipx,dec,appletalk. Does anybody have some info? Thanks

Hello.

For the 2621, the Documentation states that.

Sync support with a max speed of 2.048 Mbps
Supports one port at 8 Mbps when used in NM-1FE1R2W, NM-1FE2W, NM-2FE2W, or NM-2W or 2600 chassis WIC slots. All other WIC ports on that network module or 2600 chassis must not be used.
Supports two ports at 4 Mbps each when used in NM-1FE1R2W, NM-1FE2W, NM-2FE2W, or NM-2W or 2600 chassis WIC slots. All other WIC ports on that network module or 2600 chassis must not be used.

You should be able to find a version of IOS that is newer
and that supports IP,IPX,DEC,APPLETALK. You will need a Cisco Login/password
to access the Software Library.
Be carefull, some IOS versions will not support this
so always get the latest.

Thanks again cbum, i should have done my research wasted about $600.00 on the card and 2 smart serial cables but now i know. Does anybody want a WIC-2t (j.k)
