I have a Cisco 3620 router that dials out every 30 seconds or so, leaving me with a very large phone bill. It is connected to two separate, two channel ISDN lines, both of which have separate Bintec Routers using the other channel. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have one of the network support protocols matching you're interesting traffic. Check for CDP or your routing protocols activating the dialing.

i agree.. check your dialer-list and interesting traffic configurations...

a good way would be to implement your DDR with an extended access list.. for instance:

dialer-list 1 list 100
!
access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq www
access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq smtp
!

then, apply this configuration to your ISDN-BRI interface:

int bri0
dialer-group 1

remember, at the end of each access list, there's an implied "deny all".. so u will be sure to only allow outgoing SMTP traffic to initiate a dial-up call to your ISP...

good luck...

Sounds like RIP to me. That broadcasts every 30 seconds. Filter RIP updates with routing distribution list.
