Hi all,

How do you find out what happened prior to a cisco 3600 rebooting into ROMmon?

Don't suppose you're using syslog, otherwise you probably wouldn't be asking. If you had a syslog server, that would tell you what was going on before the "crash".

3600s are notorious for doing this sort of thing. Have you tried simply powering it off for a while to try to get it to come back up?

Usually when a router goes into ROMMON, it's because it doesn't not find software image, the config is corrupt, or config register is set to make it do so. You can load images and configs from rommon, just use ? to view available commands.

I did reset and it came back normaly, no syslog... DOUGH! but was trying to figure out if tehre was a way to find out from within, what happened.

did you try just viewing the logs?
