Cisco 3550 POE Switch - cant use terminal

One of my client had problem with 3550xl switch after power outage.. check switch and couldnt gain access using hyperterminal or putty..Press the mode button while power...got "switch:"
1. Accidentally format flash

2. Dont have IOS but copy IOS from another 3550xl switch# copy flash tftp...use pumpkin

3. On switch that was format
switch : copy xmodem: flashios)
4. Complete the upload

5. switch : boot flash

I watch it boot....but reach ...Initial Configuration Y/N....

THEN THE PROBLEM...I CANT USE THE TERMINAL ANYMORE TO TALK TO THE SWITCH

I can see message ....but i cant type anything...I use putty...hyperterminal...procomm plus

Please help

Sounds like it could be a speed problem on the console.

Reboot the 3550 to the switch> prompt, type confreg(?), and step through the options till you can change the baud speed.
