Cisco 3500 VLAN problem

Once I set up my VLANs on a router and switch and try to ping the workstations that the two devices are connected to I can't seem to get any response? Is there a way to fix this problem and are they any website you could recommand?

I have found that setting up trunking on the feed ports works.
