Hi!

I just got a few 2948g and now I'm trying to get the snmp to work.
I've setup snmp, and using snmpwalk shows me all the info, but fairly slow compared to a HP 2626.

The cisco switch takes about 3-4 minutes to give me all info, while the HP makes it in like 40 sec.

Is the switch this slow or is it possible to tune it up a little?

as I'm quite new to catOS, I think I managed to get the version of the os to be: k8.8

any help is appreciated!

Never known it to be slow. Have you checked any of the uplinks , do they have errors on them ? They don't have huge snmp buffers on them and if you are trying to poll the information too fast that could be a problem , usually if logging is setup correctly you will see udp overflow errors in the logs. Make sure snmp buffer is set at max, "set snmp buffer 95" .

I've tried to set the buffer to 95.. but it won't make snmp any faster, and I can't find any error on the uplinks.

Hm... when looking into it a little bit closer.. it's the HP 2626 that's actually faster. Found an HP 2524 which is about the same speed as the cisco, so I think that part is in order..

However, our webscript says timeout when trying to read the cisco, but not the 2524... I guess it's another problem.
