Looks like you tried reloading the IOS without erasing flash first...

Burt

Hi,

After the error message i rewrited the ios and erased the old one, now i am getting the following error:

And this is the end, the switch is stuck.

any ideeas ?

What was going on with the router before you did all this? I mean, why did you reload the IOS in the first place? Practice? Was something wrong? Is this a different IOS, and you were upgrading?

Burt

Hi Burt

The switch stoped working and when i investigate the issue i found out the first part of errors, then i rewrited the ios, did a fresh rewrite and now it get's stuck here:

%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/1
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/2
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/3
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/4
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/5
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/6
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/7
%Error: initializing transceiver port Fa0/8
%Error: initializing transceiver port Gi0/1

Thanks,
Alex

The switch stoped working and when i investigate the issue i found out the first part of errors"

Can you be more specific? Could be a hardware problem, hard to tell. More specific, please.

Burt

Don't know if it's an hardware error yet.The right IOS was loaded properly and i still get errors with the fa and gi ports. I have no LED light from the ports at all.

But what EXACTLY happened that caused you to reload the IOS in the first place???

Burt

The switch had no problem before all this, everything was working fine.
The port's of the switch stopped working i have no green light when i plug the network cable in.

When i investigate the issue i found out that i got this error:

Initializing flashfs...

After this point i re writhed the IOS and i still have the same issue with error on the ports.

But did the p[orts stop working before or after you reloaded the IOS? I'm getting that you reloaded the IOS to try and fix a problem...I'm confused...

Why did you reload the IOS???
People don't normally reload the same IOS unless they have a problem...

Burt

i was thinking that if i reload the ios the switch will work, but i was mistaken.
And yes the switch stop working before i reloaded the ios. i thing this might be an hardware problem.

I totally agree. That system board sounds fried. I have a cat2924XL with the exact same problem. I still use it, though...

Burt

Thats an ancient code version , you could try a newer version but I think when you start getting Schan errors it is hardware related and has to be replaced.

I was afraid of this, anyway it worth tried...Thanks all.
