CISCO 2811 Controller Type 1

Hi

I have a CISCO 2811 Router with a Dual Serial Interface Card. We have 2 E1's connected bundled under MLPPP

Looking at sh interfaces output each Serial interface appears to be running at 1,544 T1 Speed ?

Reading up it apears that the controller hasnt been specified as a E1 ?

No where in the config does it say wether e1 or t1 ? is there a way to check what it is ?

Next question is if i set the card type and controller types to E1 now will this cause any issue ? as this is a live router

Any help would be appreciated

Are you in US or Europe? sh diag, sh module, sh inventory, sh interface should all help. Please post these and a config as well.

Apologies late reply, got called to work away

I am in the UK and have run as requested(sh module was not supported) Looking at the results i seem to be on T1, I will need to change to E1 but concerned will habe to start from scratch

That is a sync/async serial WIC, not a T1 WIC. They are the same speed as a T1, but they must be plugged into an external CSU/DSU unit. A T1/E1 WIC has an internal CSU/DSU (WIC-1DSU-T1), and therefore line code and clocking can be set on the interface itself.

Your serial interfaces are bonded in an MLPPP configuration, which results in a total of (up to, depending on the carrier, yours could indeed be that of E1 speed) 3.088Mbps, which is more that E1 speeds. However, they are NOT two E1 bonded WICs. The fastest you'll get is 3Mbps...
