look for Processor board ID X where X is the serial (starts with JAD)

Thanks for the reply. But isn't that number the serial number of the board, not the router itself? The one I have in the office shows a different number on the back of the unit from the number shown with this command.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont' think you can identify the serial number of the router with a command on a 2610. A show diag will work for installed cards, but not the router. Sorry.
I stand corrected. I searched the results of a sh tech and ouldn't find the serial printed on the chassis. Guess you can't get the serial without physically checking.
