Okay, I am really stumped, and this is probably an easy fix, but here goes:

Cisco 2514 Router
e0 (with a transceiver)- 229.2.245.188 255.255.255.252 (up state) conneted to a PC (229.2.245.189 255.255.255.252)
s0 - 229.2.245.183 255.255.255.252(up state) connected to a cisco 7200 (interface s2/1 - 229.2.245.182 255.255.255.252)

I can put my laptop on the console port of my 2514, and ping all 4 ip addresses, but I cannot get one end to talk to the other. In other words, a ping from the 7200 for the PC's IP is unsuccessful, and vice versa.

What do I need to include in the running-config file to get the s0 and e0 ports to talk to one another on the 2514?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

I would try changing IPs a little bit. The ones you have, given your subnet masks, are:

229.2.245.188 is a subnet number with two possible IPs on the subnet - 229.2.245.189 and 229.2.245.190

and

229.2.245.183 is broadcast for the subnet 229.2.245.180 with two possible IPs - 229.2.245.181 and 229.2.245.182

Good luck.
