I have a quick question. Let me preface this by saying, I'm just getting started (really really just getting started) to learn cisco. I've read posts and followed the advice to start setting up a lab. I've ebayed a couple of 2507 routers. They are supposed to have 16 Megs of DRAM and 16 Megs of Flash.

When I do the #show version I'm getting the following:

(removed other stuff and just left memory information)

cisco 2507 (68030) processor (revision C) with 8192k/2048k bytes of memory

8192 bytes of processor board System flash (Read ONLY)

Isn't this more like 10MB's of DRAM and 8MB's of Flash?

I just want to be sure I'm correct before I go back to the seller.

Thanks in advance!

cpate,

You have 8 DRAM and 8 FLASH , the extra 2 is "onboard" and not counted like that.

You do not have 16/16

It should read like this (this is a 2503) -

cisco 2500 (68030) processor (revision N) with 14336K/2048K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID 11158112, with hardware revision 00000001
Bridging software.
X.25 software, Version 3.0.0.
Basic Rate ISDN software, Version 1.1.
1 Ethernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)
2 Serial network interface(s)
1 ISDN Basic Rate interface(s)
32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
16384K bytes of processor board System flash (Read ONLY)

Configuration register is 0x2102

Hope this helps!
