Hi, I have a Cisco 2500 I'd like to set up as a Firewall on a No-NAT DSL line and have a couple of questions.

1) Does any version of IOS (which can run on a 2500) incorporate the PIX Firewall functionality, or is this only achievable on dedicated hardware?

2) Where can I go to learn more about setting up a Cisco router as a firewall?

Thanks for your help.

There is not any PIX equivient for the 2500 series. The PIX is a PII with custom ROMS and software(in it's simplest terms)

There is a version of Firewall software for the 2500 but it's not a PIX :) If I remember right, you will need something like 16 and 16 megs of FLASH and DRAM.
