Hi all,

Does anyone know any none-Cisco routers which are compatible with a Cisco 1841 for a router-to-router IPsec VPN tunnel?

I've had a look at the Cisco 887's but they are a over the budget I have for the project!

Many thanks in advance

Jim

I'm guessing if the 887 is out of the budget this is a fairly small deployment then. I have experience with sonicwall as well, and any of their TZ line should be good for a small office.

That is their smallest unit, MSRP is $295 you should be able to get it for $230 or less. This is a firewall/wireless device that does VPN tunnels/client connections as well.

Another option is just getting a lower end Cisco device off ebay :) If this is for a customer though, I wouldn't recommend it.

Thank you for your reply! Appreciated!

The 'office' in question is actually the MD's home! So only 2 or 3 PCs and a couple of IP hardphones will be connecting through it.

I'll take a look at the Sonicwalls

Thanks again!

I would second a Cisco 800 series.

a bit nicer to use - in my mind - than a sonic wall. the cisco has a nice site to site or vpn client based wizard and its a set and forget appliance.
