Hello,
We installed 2 Cisco 1841 Routers for a customer who has a 50Meg point to point circuit on a Metro E link. All is working but we did run into a issue while doing the throughput test. The Telco is the provider of the Metro E circuit, they had JDSU test sets connected to the Metro L2 switches that would push 50 meg with 0 errors from point to point. After that they put their test sets behind the routers we instlled and could only push up to around 5 Meg before they started taking errors. After several config changes they setup the JDSU test sets up for DIX instead of 802.3 and problem was solved. Does anyone know what this means? The routers are IOS 15.0, very basic config, both ehternet ports on the 1841's (Fa0/0)that connect the point to point are set for speed auto, Duplex full. Both fa0/1 ports that connect to the JDSU Test sets were set to speed 100 Duplex Full just like test sets. With the JDSU test sets set for DIX we could send and recieve 50 Meg through the routers no problem but with them setup with 802.3 instant erros around 5 Meg.
Thanks
