Hello all, first time posting, so its for a Procurve 2810 something I don't deal with much. We have an 1801 router connected to a 2810 using a vlan trunk. Even though the port and device utilization is very low on both the 2810 and the 1801 the 2810 is dropping some of the routers packets. speed and duplex both match, but regardless of which of two 2810's or router ports we try some of the traffic sent by the router is dropped at the switch. The traffic dropped is not enough to break the connection, it just makes a very fast connection slow....we also try three different know good cables...
The configurations on both sides is very simple, there are two vlans both trunked across this connection. All other switches connect back to this 2810 with vlan trunks that have no dropped packets carrying the same two vlans. The router routes both vlans and routes traffic to the firewall that routes traffic to the internet.
