Hi,
I've been trying real hard to get the above combination working. My goal is to connect my local network, via the 56K modem, to the internet. I have a feeling that it's not possible, but I'm not sure.

Is it possible to setup PPP via the Serial0 (Wic 1T) using, say a 'dialer', with the modem?

Thank you, in advance, for your time.

Phil Quinton.

hi,
i have never try this configuration but its sounds like it should work ...

try configure the serial interface as async and then its should work with your modem, i guess u can also send controls via rs232 ( as DTR from the router or DCD from the modem so the router will "open" the line only for "interest" traffic )
configure the serial as ppp , the ip address i guess should be negotiated ( from local ISP )
configure ppp pap authentication ( or chap - ask the ISP )
