Cisco 1242 not working with power injector (Newbie)

I have a cisco 1242 that I am trying to use a power injector to get power to it, but the status light is orange and there is no connectivity. I have seen some post that say there is a power command to adjust the access point's ability to use the injector, but the power command is not recognized and doesn't show up in the list. Any idea why the injector is not working and/or why the power command isn't available?
