cisam filesize limitation

i want to know if there are any set limits to the filesize of a cisam file. we run a UIX AIX 4.3 and cobol v4.1 and have large file support implemented.
yet at a certain filesize (2GB) we experience filelock and a write into file error.
are there limits to the maximum filesize of cisam files, and are there ways to extend the limit?

There are limits but there is supposedly a newer version "big c-isam" that can get around the problem. Your best bet would be to check with the manufacturer.
