Circular Based Webpage

Hey all..

Outta curiosity here.. I'm interested in making a website, based around circles.. Picture a large bubble (sandbox) with smaller bubbles around it, over and underlaid..

I toyed with it a tad, and I'm almost at the point where I would say it can't be done.. even using the z-index with CSS, laying circles over circles just doesn't seem possible, since the image is in truth, rectangular..

Any thoughts?
