Cipher refers to the encryption level for your browser when entering secure sites that you SSL. 40-bit, 56-bit and 128-bit are the available levels depending which browser and OS you are running. The higher the strength the more secure your transaction.
You increase the level by either upgrading your browser or loading a high encryption pack. Again this would all depend on what browser version and OS you are running. You can tell your encryption level by going to HELP and ABOUT. joegz
