CIL through SIU

Am using the SIU for CIL, teh SIU is concted to me pc through COM2 which is a serial port, at COM1 i have my IPU conectaion, i sometimes have to use COM2 to use an external modem, when ever i disconcet the SIU cable and replace it with the Modem at COM2, and then get the CIL cable back again at COM2 it never seems to work and i have to reprogram the SIU borad and all teh CIL settings again......does any body knwo why this happens?

normally you must use a buffer in this configuration, like an AAU or a Cristie teleport or whatever you can find. if you must do it the way you're doing it, first do a cltge; before disconnecting the cable and a cltgi after reconnecting the cable, the MD110 shouldn't have problems if you do it like this...
