Hi all,

I am testing CIL over Ethernet, and I'm using HyperTerminal for this purpose.

For the initial connection, I set the HyperTerminal status to "Wait for a call", and the MD110 NIU2 initiates the connection towards the CIL computer.

This initial connection sometimes takes 2-3 minutes to happen, so I was wondering if there is any way I can initiate the connection from the CIL computer side to the NIUS (like if I should connect to a specific port no. on the NIU2).

Thanks in advance

Look at the printout for CLINP -- if DMPSIZ=2 for your output file, then the system only sends call records in 1k buffers - it may take 2 or 3 minutes for 1k to accumulate, depending on how busy your system is. If you want to see calls one by one as they occur, you need to end and reinitiate the output header (CLOHI) and choose DMPSIZ=1.

Good luck,

Dave Strang

on top of that, use CLDFE, CLDFI to directly iniate the connection...

We have DMPSIZ=1, and calls are received one by one after the connection is established.

BUT the problem is the initial establishment of the connection. When I want to connect for the first time, or after I get disconnected for some reason, it takes 2-3 minutes for the MD110 to connect towards the Charging computer.
