At the moment, the CIL account code length for PIN and MTAC is 4 digits. I would like to increase it to 6 or 7 digits. I am talking about the account code when you use the MTAC feature. Is re-config the only way to change it? System Parameters SPNCD and SPXCD is not related to the account code for PIN and MTAC, right? We have 7.1.

Spncd and Spxcd are related to ACD account codes.

MTAC account codes are fixed to 4 digits 0000 to 9999. This can not be change by a reconfig.

If you want to increase the length for security, you can use Enhanced Mobile Tac.

So what I understand is if MTAC can't be changed even reconfig, so this is the same for the PIN account code? I would like to secure the PIN as well.

Unfortunately PIN is restricted to 4 digits 0000 - 9999, note !! * and # are not permitted.

When using the Enhanced Mobile Tac, the users code is translated into **2 <4-digit password> <4-digit personal account code>, which allows for up to 16 digits to be used as a users EMT code. Note your RL ( Routing Digit translation, SPRDT)table must have enough spare entries to be able to support this feature. The RL table can be changed to point to another table, if the existing table has not got enough entries.

Users using PIN access are limited to 4 digits.

I got 1000 entries in my RL table and almost 500 entries had been used and the remaining 500 is not enough for the EMT feature. That is the reason why I am asking if the digit lenght can be increase. What about if I upgrade to 8.0, will the lenght change?

You can change sprdt to point to another table which has more than 1000 entries, which will allow you to use EMT. System parameter SPRDT cannot be changed using RSSP, it has to be patched or direct deposited to point to the new table.

I know that and the routing table that I am using now has the highest number of entries which is 1000. Others are just from 500 to 50.

Looks like you have to go for a reconfig to expand your digit translation tables, not sure if Rev 8 support MTAC account codes greater than 4 digits.

Anyway, thanks for your inputs iSDX. I will try to inquire from Siemens Beeston about it.
