Hi,
I am mounting a Windows share to a RHEL3 box using CIFS. The mount works perfectly and I can change into the directory (and any subdirectories) without a problem, but if I attempt to 'ls' in any directory in the mount I get an error saying "unable to allocate memory". If I 'ls' a known individual file in the mount then I get the correct result.
I am also able to 'cat' any file in the mount correctly, but copies and touches will fail.
After repeated attempts (!inconsistent!) to 'ls' the directory I eventually get a result back, but then the "live" connection is lost after a period of inactivity.
Also whilst the connection is "live" if I attempt to 'ls' a subdirectory, or change into one and then 'ls', I get the same original problem.
Am I missing something?
